|A Dream Come True|
Finished my freshman year of college-check. Now off to TRAVEL THE WORLD! My wonderful aunt gave me the most amazing high school graduation gift to go anywhere in the world that I desired. Without question, I knew I instantly wanted to go to Australia! It's been my dream since 3rd grade. We couldn't do it right after my high school graduation because of grad parties, my last recital, and getting things ready for my dorm room, but wow! This was definitely a trip of a lifetime that I'll never forget!

And so it begins! I finally made it all the way to LA. I have never been before, so it was exciting to be in California for my first time. I waited for my aunt as time slowly passed by. Her flight has some technical issues and she unfortunately missed our flight to Melbourne, AUS. However, we were able to spend a night at this luxurious hotel!

We decided to make the most of our time in LA, since our flight wasn't until later in the evening. My aunt and I took a bus tour around LA and saw some iconic sights: the 'Hollywood' sign, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre, Sunset Strip, Farmer's Market, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica beach, Venice and Muscle beach, and downtown LA.
It was a long and adventurous day! I'm glad I packed my selfie stick because it made taking pictures a whole lot easier. On the ride back to the hotel, I totally fell asleep because it took twice as long due to rush hour.

WE MADE IT TO AUSTRALIA!!! It was a 13 hour flight and we actually went ahead in time because they are 14 hours ahead of EST. We were both exhausted because we landed around 8 a.m., so we still had a full day ahead of ourselves. Once we got to our hotel, we got settled in and planned the rest of our day. Our hotel was so fancy! But very noisy because they were doing some remodeling.
We decided to go to a food court within a casino (my first time in a casino!) for dinner. Later, we went to MARU Koala & Animal Park. We saw the cutest animals and the most PERFECT rainbow! We got to feed the kangaroos and get our picture with a koala-so cute.
Afterwards, we went to see the penguin parade! (one of the top things to see on my list) Unfortunately, you couldn't take pictures because the flash would disturb the little guys, but man, it was incredible! We sat on the beach with our coats, all bundled up. The little penguins are only about 3 ft tall and came out of the ocean so fast. They walked in little huddles and waddled along the sand closer, and closer to us. My aunt and I were just in awe. Then the little guys walked to their burrows and we watched them for a few more hours and they even came up to the driveway of the main building. This was definitely one of our favorite moments!
